Eoin McGirr


Background

Eoin McGirr graduated in law in 1992 from the University of Nottingham and after worked in humanitarian projects in South America and Africa. He then attended the Inns of Court School of Law in London and was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1997 by the Honourable Society of Gray’s Inn. He practiced in London as a criminal barrister at Doughty Street Chambers and 4 Brick Court Chambers.

In Spain he has worked not only as a laywer, but also as a legal translator and consultant for law firms and studied for a doctorate in International Law at the University of the Basque Country. In 2014 Eoin was admitted to the Colegio de Abogados de Cantabria becoming a practicing Spanish lawyer (Abogado).

Since 2016 he is also a Law Lecturer at the Universidad de Deusto (Bilbao) and on the Board of the International Institute for the Human Right to Science.
